The Forteans is a boring title for my prospective third book and, worse, while it seems to be descriptive, it is not: most of the world don't even know who the Forteans are, why they should care about them, or even how to pronounce the word, necessarily. So, I need some alternate titles. These will evolve as the book takes shape, but in the meantime, I want to record some passing thoughts.
Possible ideas: some play on circle: "A Circle Has No End," "Squaring the Circle." Hmmmm.
I don't know, Josh: just last year Jim Steinmeyer's biography of Charles Fort got quite a bit of press, so I'm not sure the Forteans are completely obscure anymore.
Still, I'm never one to suggest authors stop thinking about marketable titles!
